WHAT IS A MUN?

Model United Nations (MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations where students play the role of delegates from different countries and attempt to solve real world issues with the policies and perspectives of their assigned country.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST MUN?

• Read the Background guide provided by the chairpersons and build your research based on its contents.

• Research extensively about your assigned country and also counter research to tackle other delegates. 

• Frame your topics and speeches.

• Focus on one idea at a time.

• Look at past resolutions and frame your own resolutions.

• Learn the different stages of the committee (Rules of Procedure)

HOW DO I WIN THE BEST DELEGATE AWARD?

To win the Best Delegate award, you need to follow persistence throughout the committee and speak often and you should put forth a lot of viable solutions and raise Point Of Orders and Points of information against other delegates and moreover you should stay active throughout committee.

HOW TO COMBAT STAGE FEAR IN A MUN?

Firstly, you have to relax and let go. Think deeply about the content you are going to speak and think about how you are going to pull this off. Your mind will automatically calm down and you will be able to beautifully give out a speech without any fear.
